PAPER ARTWORK
Event: E. Michael Whittington discussed the Oklahoma City Museum of Art's next major exhibit at a luncheon given by Nancy Ellis, Kathy Brown and Judy Love at the Oklahoma City Golf & Country Club. The exhibit, Isabelle de Borchgrave: Fashioning Art from Paper, opens June 16.
Luncheon menu: On the menu was Asian chicken, salad, muffins and pink lemonade pie.
Decor: Centerpieces from Trochta's Flowers were blue hydrangeas, multicolored Gerber daisies and dianthus green balls. The hostesses used blue toile luncheon plates.
Guests: At the party were Carrie Katigan, Donna Blakley, Lori Payne, Theresa Bozallis, Linda James, Kirk Hammons, Polly Nichols, Laurie Givens, Susan Hoffman, Alison Calhoon, Laura Hood, Carole Drake, Shirley Blaik, Nancy Arnold, Rita Moore, Aimee Harlow, Vionette Dunn, Karen Samis, Leslie Samara, Patty Anthony.
About the exhibit: The exhibit will feature life-size trompe l'oeil paper costumes by Belgian artist Isabelle de Borchgrave. The costumes cover more than 500 years of fashion history, including the eras of Elizabeth I, the Medicis and Coco Chanel. OKCMOA is the exclusive regional venue for this exhibition, which will run through Sept. 9.
LEADERSHIP RECEPTION
Reception: United Way's recent Leadership Reception was a come-and-go event at the Oklahoma City Golf & Country Club. Among the 200 guests were donors who contribute $500 or more annually to the United Way.
Brief program: The Leadership Giving Society co-chairmen David Thompson, Ed Martin and Mark Funke, spoke briefly at the event.
HAPPY BIRTHDAY CHERYL
Afternoon tea: Friends were at Quail Creek Golf & Country Club recently for an afternoon tea to celebrate Cheryl Hewett's birthday. Hostesses were Inda Burchfiel, Karen Hargrove, Andrea Jones, Judy Keeton, Lana Lopez, Wanda Myers, Vicki Richards, Sherry Strebel, Jeannie Strickland and Jane Thompson.
Tea attire: Guests wore hats and gloves for the event.
Food/flowers: Among the menu items were cucumber sandwiches, scones with clotted cream, fruit, petit fours and tea. Tables were covered with white tablecloths and accented with pink and green napkins. Centerpieces were hot pink hydrangeas in floral fabric-covered containers.
Guests: Guests included Judy Hall, Mary England, Beth Hammack, Liz Young, Linda Sartin, Barbara Jett, Rosalie Rahe, Sharlene Branham, Mary Beth Dockum, Jan Smith, Dee Dugan, Joyce Stewart, Janna Baccus, Ann Costello, Diane Cook, Marilyn Bethea, Darlene Parman, Toby Walker, Phyllis Battle, Kay Oliver, Teri Cunningham, Elizabeth Wilson, Charlene Wilson and Kathleen Wilson.
SPRING DINNER
Occasion: The Delta Gamma Alumnae Spring Progressive Dinner was held in the homes of Jane Clark and Toby Boothe. Appetizers and drinks were served in the Boothe home and dinner and dessert was at the Clarks'. On the menu was tomato vodka pasta, field green salad and anchor cookies. Jane Clark is alumnae president.
Centerpieces: Nautical centerpieces with shells, anchors and lanterns decorated the tables.
Guests: 50 members, ages 23 to 83, were at the event, including Martha Burger, Kay Lindsey, Kate Stanton, Lindy Ritz, Billie Kaye Meachum, Valerie Oakley, Suzanne Reynolds, Pam Troup, LeAnn Harman and Amy Ayres.
COFFEE WITH THE ARTISTS
Coffee: Artists Nick Berry, Ginger Myers Gavula and Andre Tutak were at The Howell Gallery for “Coffee With The Artists.” Berry and Tutak were doing painting demonstrations and Gavula was sculpting in clay.
Guests: Among those at the event were Seyan and John Hefner, Father John Martin, Betty Crow, SoRelle Fitzgerald, Kay and Clark Musser, Joy Richardson, Marian Kiker, Nancy Junkin, Howard Berry, Jane and John Kenney, Pam Eales, Karleen Krywucki, Peggy Crump, Kyle Rector, Nancy Bradley, Sue Goodman, Christi Coyle, Pam and Price Coyle, Alison Taylor, and Sally Bentley.
