The Metropolitan Library System's downtown library, 300 Park Ave., has announced a "Geek Con" starting at 11 a.m. and ending at 3 p.m. on May 19.

Here's the info from the Facebook page for the event:

Always wanted to be a superhero? Love movies and comics?

You’re never too old to show off your superpowers!

Join us at the Ronald J. Norick Downtown Library for Geek Con – a celebration of pop-culture fandom.

Take part in a cosplay contest, find your way out of an Escape room and more!

And - don’t miss guest appearances from your favorite pop-culture icons!

Pre-registration is required for some events.

Local comic-book creators, New World Comics, Jedi OKC, and Oklahoma Ghostbusters are set to appear, and mini-panels are planned for the day.

For more information, call the library at (405) 231-8650.
