Sooners claim fourth straight NCAA men's gymnastics championship
Make it four in a row.
The top-ranked Oklahoma Sooners claimed their fourth consecutive NCAA men's gymnastics championship Saturday night at UIC Pavilion in Chicago.
OU posted an overall score of 414.858. Minnesota finished second with a score of 411.923 and was followed by Illinois (411.689), Stanford (408.725), Nebraska (403.589) and Penn State (387.958.
The Sooners scored a 69.798 on the floor routine, 68.566 on the pommel, 67.565 on rings, 72.566 on vault, 69.832 on parallel bars and a 66.531 on the high bars.
OU captured the title with a 13.533 on the high bars by Geneki Suzuki.
Yul Moldauer earned an individual all-around national title with a 87.298. The OU junior also finished first in the vault competition with a 14.900, parallel bars (14.733) and floor (15.166).
