Thunder calls Brian Davis' comment 'offensive and inappropriate'
If you were watching the Thunder's 137-123 win over the Grizzlies in Wednesday night's regular-season finale, you might have heard an old phrase that sparked debate on social media.
Russell Westbrook secured a triple-double average for a second consecutive season, scoring six points to go along with 19 assists and 20 rebounds for Oklahoma City. The reigning NBA MVP's play prompted an odd comment by Fox Sports Oklahoma broadcaster Brian Davis in the second quarter.

The comment caused some uproar on social media given the racial connotations with slavery and cotton farming.
Dan Mahoney, the Thunder's vice president of broadcasting, told The Norman Transcript that "the use of the term was offensive and inappropriate."
Mahoney said it would be up to Davis whether or not to address the comment on a future broadcast.
The Thunder hosts the Utah Jazz in Game 1 of the first round of the Western Conference playoffs at 5:30 p.m. Sunday in a playoff opener to be televised by Fox Sports Oklahoma and TNT.
