Ireland is one of Europe's most popular destinations, and with that in mind AAA is offering free presentations on the ins and outs of travel to Ireland March 15 at its locations throughout Oklahoma.

From AAA:

  • Few may be aware that one town has a special connection with Oklahoma’s Choctaw Americans. Last June, in Midleton, Ireland, a sculpture, “Kindred Spirits” was dedicated to the Choctaw tribe and unveiled by Oklahoma’s own chief of the Choctaw Nation. During the Irish famine in 1847, despite their own personal hardships just after the Trail of Tears, the Choctaws sent what would now be valued at ~$4,500 to aid Irish citizens during the Great Hunger (Potato Famine).
  • Ireland has fantastic Bed & Breakfast accommodations that you could build an entire trip around.
  • The Titanic Museum takes you back to the time when it was built and set sail from Belfast.
  • It is the home of Irish Whiskey and Guinness, for those who like to take a wee sip now & again. Tours of these distilleries are highly recommended.
