NEW YEAR'S DAY JAZZ
Occasion: The 15th annual New Year's Day Brunch at JRB Art at the Elms featured live jazz music by Eddie Biamonte and the gallery show of “Past, Present & Future.”
Artists: The show was a group exhibition featuring artwork by Michele Mikesell, DJ Lafon, Christa Blackwood, Shane Scribner, George Bogart, Beth Hammack, Sohail Shehada, Heather Lunsford, Larry Hefner, Marilyn Artus, Hugh Meade and Jenny Bell, Michi Susan, Lynette Mathis, Mina Sadeghi, and Sara Scribner.
Food/flowers: Okie Benedict (fried chicken and fried egg) with gravy and biscuits, cheddar potato breakfast casserole, black-eyed peas and various pastries were prepared by Ryan Parrott of Picasso's Café. Bouquets of daisies, lilies and freesia were set on the tables and mantles.

HAPPY RETIREMENT, KAY
Party: Kay Oliver, foundation executive director at Mercy Health Center, was the honoree at a retirement event in the conference center of the hospital. Members of Mercy administration were hosts for the event. The beloved employee stood at the front of the room while employees from all areas of the hospital lined up (the line went out the door and down the hall all during the party) to tell her goodbye. Even one of the hospital therapy dogs dropped by. Many of her co-workers had heart-rendering stories to tell her before she left. Kay has been with Mercy for 30 years and she plans to return as a volunteer.
The room: Tables were set up filled with bouquets of lilies (her favorite), hydrangeas, roses; plates of fruit, cheese and crackers; and petit fours and cookies.

Event: SoRelle Fitzgerald was hostess for a get-together during the holidays. She cooked all of her menu items, which included ham, cucumber and pimento cheese sandwiches; artichoke dip and homemade cookies.
Decor: The house was decorated with the family Christmas decorations and Simpich dolls were on the buffet table.
Guests: Among the guests were Lakehurst neighbors, many of which Fitzgerald worked with on the landscape committee for the neighborhood.
CELEBRATING THE SEASON
Buffet: Members of Kappa Alpha Theta Alumnae and guests met for their annual Christmas party, a cocktail buffet event, at The Jones Assembly. Co-chairmen were Jessica Beavers and Courtney Mankin.
Theta of the year: Current president LeAnn Lienhard was recognized as the 2017 Theta of the Year.
Occasion: The 9- and 18-hole Ladies Golf Association members at the Oklahoma City Golf & Country Club held the annual holiday luncheon in the Sable Room of the club. Cindy Arnold, 2017 president of the 18-hole group, and Ellen Lisle, president of the 9-hole group, announced awards.
New presidents: Marilyn Meade and Susan Edwards are new presidents of the 18-hole and 9-hole golf clubs.
BOARD OF DIRECTORS EVENT
Party: Oklahoma Medical Research Foundation President Dr. Stephen Prescott and his wife Susan were hosts for the annual Christmas party for board members and friends of the foundation. The party was held in the Gaylord Pavilion in OMRF's Research Tower.
Seen: Among the guests were Donna and Len Cason, Susan and Carl Edwards, the Hon. Jerome Holmes, Jeri Holmes, Virginia and John Groendyke, Judy Hatfield, Charlotte Lankard, Gene Rainbolt, Marion Paden and Lou Ann and Jim Morris.
Occasion: Diana Johnson was the honoree at a baby shower given by Pat Broadfoot, Joyce Bollenbach, Terri Hare, Karen Mayfield and Karen Dahlgren in the Mayfield home.
The party: Party foods included a cake decorated with blue roses, blue frosted cupcakes, sugar cookies with white sprinkles and homemade fudge. The centerpiece was orchids, which were given to the hostesses.
