CHRISTMAS BALL COMING UP
Christmas Ball: Bachelors Club debutantes will make their formal bow into society at the 71st annual Bachelors Club Christmas Ball on Dec. 22 at the Oklahoma City Golf & Country Club. The young women will be escorted by members of the Bachelors Club of Oklahoma City. After the 25 debs are presented, guests will dance to the music of Souled Out, followed by a late breakfast.
The ask: 25 debutantes were invited to become debs on Thanksgiving Day as Bachelors Club members arrived by limousine at their homes with roses and Champagne in hand.
Proceeds: Hearts for Hearing will be the recipient of the proceeds this year. BC president Sam McDonald selected the group.
Time: The black-tie ball begins at 8 p.m. and the presentation is at 9 p.m.
The debs: The 2017 debs are Claire Bizzell Abbott, daughter of Maria and Craig Abbott; Tillie Rist Allen, daughter of Stacey and Chris Allen; Vivian Brooks Armitage, daughter of Catherine and John Armitage; Olivia Ashton Beall, daughter of Sandy and Douglas Beall; Heidi Glee Brown, daughter of Lela and Sonny Brown; Abigail Elise Cain, daughter of Peggy and Tim Cain; Claire Judith Cameron, daughter of Laura Love and Bill Cameron; and Maren Amelia Cottrell, daughter of Amy and David Cottrell.

MOVING DOWN THE STREET
Party: Barbara Kerrick was hostess for a going-away party for Patty and Sam Williamson and Mary McGuire, who are moving out of Hunter's Green condominiums and down the street to Edgewater neighborhood. Kerrick invited their neighbors over for a holiday drink.
Barbara's condo: It was decorated with Christmas candles and a festive tablecloth and the table held trays of party foods, including pork tenderloin, dips and chips, cheese balls, brownies and holiday cookies.
Banquet: People from all over the state met recently to celebrate environmental excellence at the 27th annual Environmental Excellence Celebration. It was held at the Embassy Suites in Norman and was hosted by Keep Oklahoma Beautiful. There were 29 individual categories recognized for outstanding work in environmental and beatification efforts. Several groups in Oklahoma City were recipients. Included were governments, businesses, organizations and individuals working to improve their communities.
Local winners: Included were the Margaret Annis Boys Trust, a Trust with the Oklahoma City Community Foundation, Towering Spirit award; The Oklahoma Department of Environmental Quality Criminal Investigation Unit, Law Enforcement Program Award, and Martin Park Nature Center, Team Builder Category winner. Organization winners included Oklahoma Forestry Services, OKC Beautiful, P&K Equipment, Premier Truck Group, OKC Community Foundation, Warren CAT, Oklahoma Environmental Management Authority and OKC Parks and Recreation, Team Builder Category. Also receiving awards were Special Care, Nonprofit, Service Population, 40,001 Category and Queen Bri's Honey Farm and Bee Removal, Business category winner. There were many other award winners from throughout the state.
Executive director: Jeanette Nance, executive director of KOB, said: "Here at Keep Oklahoma Beautiful we are about communities, not profit.
“When disconnected people come together as a community with a cause, we change the face of our Oklahoma. I absolutely love this event where we can honor so many deserving groups for the good they do all across Oklahoma,” she added. Keep Oklahoma Beautiful is a statewide nonprofit and helps citizens to preserve and enhance the state's natural beauty.
FRIENDSHIP BY THE FIRESIDE
Dinner: Members of Alpha Gamma Delta Alumni met at West on Western for a “Friendship by the Fireside” event. They talked about their recent fundraiser, Schermer pecans from Georgia, and noted that Lesley Noller will be hostess for the Christmas party, where members will bring gift cards for the Jimmy Everest Center patients in place of a gift exchange.
Attendees: At the dinner were Lesley Noller, Paula Geisinger, Jacki Murphy, Millicent Gillogly, Teresa Stephens, Bobbie Franklin, Melinda Rushing, Jennifer Elcyzyn, Kelly Garrett, Pam Williams, Nancy Shook, Debbie Williams and Keri Thompson, who was the hostess.
GOLDEN CIRCLE LUNCHEON
Luncheon: Members of the Golden Circle of Delta Delta Delta Alumni met for a luncheon at Quail Creek Golf & Country Club. Special guests were members of the Tulsa University Chapter.
On the program: Chairman Helen Duckett called the meeting to order and Linda Walters gave the invocation. Elaine Yarbrough, House Director at the University of Oklahoma, gave a report.
HAPPY BIRTHDAY, JACQUELINE
Party: Jacqueline Bass celebrated her 60th birthday with a dinner party given by her son, Douglas Bass Jr. The event was at Vast and it featured a live band, dinner, Champagne toast and birthday cake.
CHRISTMAS AT THE ELMS
Opening party: The opening reception for featured artists Denise Duong and Karam at JRB Arts at the Elms was held recently. It is the 14th annual Christmas at The Elms event.
Food/decor: Luminarias lighted the art gallery and the mantels were decorated for the holidays with greenery and flowers. Guests enjoyed Wassail and appetizers prepared by chef Ryan Parrott of Picasso's Café.
