Skyway added to Oklahoma City convention center budget
The Oklahoma City Council has agreed to a $400,000 increase in the architect's fee to design a skyway connecting the MAPS 3 convention center and a new parking garage.
Longer than a football field at 465 feet, the skyway is expected to add $3.5 million to $5 million to the convention center's cost, now running close to $300 million.
Including land, the parking garage is expected to cost $40 million. On Dec. 5, the council is expected to discuss redirecting $9 million from MAPS 3 for construction of the garage.
