The Oklahoman's Most Valuable Pet contest is now open for voting
The images are just adorable.
They are darling.
Well, they are darned cute, I can guarantee that. There would be no other excuse for me to use words like 'adorable' and 'darling' in a column.
I dare you to check out The Oklahoman's Most Valuable Pet of the Year contest page and stop after one scroll. You'll be there a while.
We have been promoting this Most Valuable Pet contest for the past couple of weeks in The Oklahoman. We've been accepting your nominations and now have more than 200 potential MVPs.
Today, the voting begins.
Each vote costs $0.50. The proceeds go to support Newspapers in Education (NIE) projects, programs, and resources made available to over 194,000 Oklahoma students.
If you don't know a lot about NIE, visit the website to learn more. The ultimate goal of NIE is to promote civic literacy and civic engagement in Oklahoma classrooms, so your two quarters are going to a good cause.
We already have all the entries, but now we are down to the voting. And that's where my challenge comes in.
Go to our Most Valuable Pet contest and scroll. I bet you keep scrolling to see more of those pets.
You can't stop at just one scroll.
They are just precious.
To prove it, I'll share an adorable pic of my own dog, Heidi. Don't worry, I didn't enter, so she won't take away from your votes.
