Restaurant community organizes benefit for Puerto Rico relief

Local members of the hospitality industry have organized a one-of-kind event to raise money for storm-torn Puerto Rico.

The city's top chefs will set up Monday at the Will Rogers Theatre, 4322 N Western Ave., for the event, which starts with cocktail hour at 6 p.m.

Chefs Kurt Fleischfresser (Vast) Alain Buthion (La Baguette), Eric Smith (VZD's) and David Henry (The Hutch) will donate their labor, liquor and food costs to create the grand feast with wine, Puerto Rican cocktails and music.

Sponsors include Cattlemen’s Steakhouse, La Baguette, The Hutch, Vast, VZDs, McClintock’s Saloon, Bacardi, Southern-Glazers, Thirst Wine Merchants, Premium Brands Wine & Spirits and more.

Cost is $100 with all proceeds going directly to the recovery effort in Puerto Rico. Catholic Charities will be on hand to collect at the door. You can also purchase tickets here.
