Family of slain Oklahoma bookstore owner raising money for investigation
The Oklahoman's Robert Medley reports:
The brother of an Oklahoma City bookstore owner found dead in his burned-out shop said a fund has been set up to assist in an ongoing investigation.
Kelly Hays, 66, the owner of 30 Penn Books, 3023 N Pennsylvania Ave., was found lying dead under a pile of books September 14 inside the store he'd opened in 2000. Police said a fire had been set in the store.
Dan Hays, 71, said donations are now being accepted through a GoFundMe.com account.
Kelly Hays had more than 30,000 books inside the bookstore, many of which were damaged by fire, smoke and water. The store has remained closed since the homicide, and the family does not plan to reopen it, Dan Hays said.
