An Oklahoma Baptist leader said Oklahoma Baptist Disaster Relief is coordinating its response to Hurricane Harvey and the devastating floods in Texas.

Don Williams, disaster relief director for the Baptist General Convention of Oklahoma, said he has been in close contact with officials connected to hurricane relief efforts.

Williams said Oklahoma Baptist Disaster Relief deployed its shower trailer to the area on  Monday, Aug. 28. The trailer has private shower stalls that can be used by relief workers.

Williams said he anticipates Oklahoma volunteers will be called on to serve, as well.

“Our disaster relief organization will help our neighbors in need. This response and relief effort won’t be short or easy, but with God’s help, every person who needs help will be served,” said Williams.

Oklahoma Baptist Disaster Relief has been on standby since the hurricane formed. For the latest updates or to support Oklahoma Baptist Disaster Relief, go to www.OKDisasterHelp.org.
