Metro Library System executive director fired

The Metropolitan Library Commission voted Thursday to end its employment of executive director Tim Rogers effective immediately.

Kay Bauman, chief library officer, will assume duties as interim executive director with all the responsibilities and authority of the chief executive director.

A plan for future leadership is moving forward and will be developed over the next six weeks, library system director of communications Kim Terry said.

Rogers joined the Metropolitan Library System in January 2015. He came to Oklahoma City via Raleigh, N.C. where he served as executive director of NC Live, a provider of digital content and services for about 200 public and university libraries.
