Library gets set for Train Days

NORMAN — The trains will be rolling through the Lowry Room at Norman Public Library Central for its annual Train Days, Aug. 19-20. In an end-of-summer favorite at the library, the South Canadian Model Railroad Club, Oklahoma N-Rail, Arbuckle Model Railroaders and For the Love of Trains will set up their model trains from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Aug. 19 and 1 to 6 p.m. Aug. 20 at the library, 225 N Webster Ave. All ages are invited to attend. Edmond museum to host exhibit

EDMOND — The Edmond Historical Society & Museum will be the only museum in Oklahoma to host "The POWER of Children: Making a Difference," an exhibit featuring the stories of Anne Frank, Ruby Bridges and Ryan White and how they used the power of words and action to make a difference. Remembering Rogers, Post

OOLOGAH — The Will Rogers Birthplace Ranch, 9501 E 380 Road, will hold its annual Will Rogers and Wiley Post Fly-In on Saturday, commemorating the 82nd anniversary of the deaths of Rogers and Post in a plane crash on Aug. 15, 1935, in Alaska. Gates open at 7:30 a.m., and planes start landing at 8:30 a.m. Parking is free. Spectators should bring lawn chairs. The event will feature vintage aircraft, World War I fighters, biplanes, helicopters and more. There will be a car and motorcycle show, storytelling, tours of Rogers' first home, music, vendors and games for children. Admission is free, but donations are accepted.
