Oklahoma Vice: Club with reputation as illicit strip club hopes to reopen

Long dogged by Oklahoma City police, Beverly's Blue Fox, an alleged den of ill-repute, hopes to be back on the prowl again soon.

The club, at 4612 NW 10, closed late last year after a series of visits from the Oklahoma City Police Department's vice unit.

Beverly's Blue Fox applied for a new permit to sell low-point beer in Oklahoma County on July 28, according to court records. The club is owned by Beverly Hayes, 71, of Oklahoma City.

The permit has yet to be approved.

Before closing last fall, Beverly's Blue Fox allegedly operated as an illicit strip club and a haven for prostitution, according to court documents.

The club surrendered its old low-point beer permit in November after undercover Oklahoma City detectives allegedly observed dancers expose their breasts and genitalia, as well as offer sexual acts in exchange for money.  Because Hayes surrendered the beer permit in November rather than have it revoked, she can re-apply for a new permit without having to wait a year .

Police claim dancers kept on performing topless and one offered customers sex for pay in August and September even after club owners signed a “no nudity” and “no prostitution” agreement, Oklahoman reporter Nolan Clay wrote in October.
