Travel can be challenging for those without physical limitations, but it can be downright maddening for those who have them.
Europe can be especially problematic given that there’s nothing resembling the Americans With Disabilities Act within the EU. B&B’s are popular in England and Ireland, among other countries. But none have elevators and many only have guest accommodations on second or third floors.
It’s not much better outside. Maneuvering a wheelchair or scooter on narrow sidewalks or cobblestone streets in places like Edinburgh wouldn’t be a picnic either.
