Most popular Oklahoma baby names of 2016

For the sixth year in a row, Emma retained her hold as the most popular name for girls born in the Sooner State.

Meanwhile, Liam inched up a few spots to become the most popular name for boys.

On Thursday, the Social Security Administration announced the top five names for boys and girls born in 2016.

The agency started compiling a list of popular baby names in 1997, with names dating back to 1880. To see how names have changed in popularity or to search the most popular names by state, year or decade, click here

In 2016, the top names for Oklahoma babies were:
