Airport officials warn about possibility of flight delays, cancellations
Officials at Will Rogers World Airport are warning travelers that some flights might be delayed or canceled because of the threat of severe weather Thursday.
Some airlines might proactively cancel flights to try to prevent delays in other cities or to prevent aircraft from being damaged by high winds or hail, airport officials said in a news release.
As of 1:30 p.m. Thursday, American Airlines had canceled six Dallas-Fort Worth flights. Two of the cancellations were flights from Oklahoma City to Dallas-Fort Worth, said Karen Carney, a spokeswoman for Will Rogers World Airport. The other four cancellations were flights from Dallas-Fort Worth to Oklahoma City, Carney said.
People should check the status of their flights before coming to the airport, officials said.
