To DFW, or not to DFW?
I'll be heading out on a long trip to another continent next month and while that's fun and exciting the hunt for the airfare that wasn't more than a low-priced used car was a challenge.
Flying out of OKC is always a relatively smooth experience and obviously convenient if you live in central Oklahoma. But how much of a price do you put on convenience? For me that price was less than the $1,500 I saved by buying round trip tickets from Dallas rather than OKC.
Yeah, it's a 3 hour drive. And yeah DFW isn't as tranquil as OKC but $1,500 is $1,500.
For those who are game @cheapDFW is a great twitter handle to follow. It's updated every day, often more than once, and features discounted flights.
Here's a sampling:
The c0-worker of a friend recently scored round-trip tickets to Rome on Delta for about $400 per person so it's real, and it works for those willing to deal with a little added transit time.
