UCO seeks program applicants

EDMOND — The University of Central Oklahoma College of Mathematics and Science is accepting applications through Friday for Summer Bridge@UCO, a paid research program for incoming college freshmen designed to aid in the transition process from high school to university for students majoring in science, technology, engineering or mathematics fields. Throughout the four-week program, set for July 10-28, students will work with College of Mathematics and Science faculty in an intensive research environment, providing experience with university-level teaching and research activities in Central's facilities and laboratories and in the field. Norman road projects continue

NORMAN — Briggs Street between 24th Avenue SW and Lindsey Drive has reopened. Lindsey Drive between Briggs and Lindsey streets will be closed to through traffic. The temporary closure will allow the pavement that was removed during the installation of a drainage box to be reconstructed. The project is expected to be complete by April 17. Access is provided to the businesses in the area, and signs are in place to direct motorists. Questions about the project can be directed to John Clink, capital projects manager, at 366-5424.

Therapy dog event is planned

GUTHRIE — Children are invited to read aloud to Sasha the Therapy Dog at 4 p.m. Tuesday at the Guthrie Library. All ages are welcome.
