Delta trolls United over spandex flap
The airline business is highly competitive. And even in good times, it's dog-eat-dog. United unleashed the wrath of social media when it denied boarding to two teenage girls Sunday because they were wearing Spandex leggings.
The passengers this morning were United pass riders who were not in compliance with our dress code policy for company benefit travel.— United (@united) March 26, 2017
Then on Monday arch rival Delta chimed in.
Flying Delta means comfort. (That means you can wear your leggings)— Delta (@Delta) March 27, 2017
United later clarified its policy. In a nutshell, if you’re a regular customer feel free to channel your inner David Lee Roth and wear all the spandex you want. But if you’re traveling on a United employee’s benefit, you’re subject to stricter rules when it comes to attire.
