UCO team does well at challenge

EDMOND — The University of Central Oklahoma's College of Business Broncho Investment Research Challenge team placed in the top 10 in the 2017 Chartered Financial Analyst Institute Research Challenge of the Southwest. The challenge held at the University of Houston is a competition between 26 university-sponsored teams from Texas, Oklahoma and Louisiana. The goal is to promote best practices in equity research and help develop the next generation of financial analysts. For more information, go to

Norman library sets Bug Fest

NORMAN — Norman Public Library Central's annual spring break favorite, Bug Fest, is bringing creepy-crawlies into the library for a morning of fun and learning. This year's edition of Bug Fest will be from 9 a.m. to noon Wednesday in the Lowry Room of the library, 225 N Webster Ave. The morning features a live insect petting zoo, as well as crafts and exhibits that showcase the insect world. Learn about tree planting

Celebrate National Arbor Month and Earth Month and learn how to plant and care for trees from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. April 7 at Will Rogers Gardens, 3400 NW 36. Participants will plant trees in the arboretum and learn techniques for tree planting success. The workshop is free and groups are welcome.
