EDMOND — Edmond Mobile Meals held its third annual chili cook-off, a fundraiser that kicked off a monthlong national celebration of March for Meals.

The Thursday event was designed to raise awareness for Meals on Wheels programs and the homebound seniors who rely on their services.

Since 2002, Meals on Wheels America has led the annual awareness campaign in an effort to fill the gap between seniors served and those still in need. The gap is widening because of increased demand and a rapidly aging population.
