'Memories of War' page dedicated to World War II is available on NewsOK
In another example of depth and variety of content on NewsOK.com that is unmatched, I submit our coverage from the memories of our readers and from the archives of The Oklahoman.
The series is called “Memories of War.”
We launched the page in December 2016. As you might remember, Dec. 7, 2016 marked the 75th anniversary of the attack on Pearl Harbor. That means everything that follows in the coming months and years is the 75th anniversary of the war.
We have a page on NewsOK.com dedicated to the memories of World War II and the effects on our state and community.
From the page:
To commemorate this landmark anniversary, The Oklahoman presents the series “Memories of War,” which will include photos, videos, archival accounts, interviews and other elements that seek to recreate those turbulent times as they unfolded.
More than anything, we want to tell your stories, to share your memories. To do that, we need your help.
Do you have photos, letters, diaries, mementos or a good tale you’d like to share with our readers related to World War II? If so, drop us a line at email@example.com or firstname.lastname@example.org.
So far, we’ve posted a gallery of stories from our readers and a series of blog posts covering everything from vintage wartime advertising to censored weather reports to a memory of pacifists in Oklahoma.
All the posts are available on our Memories of War page on NewsOK.com -- http://newsok.com/memories-of-war -- which is available on the full NewsOK.com website on your computer or within the navigation on NewsOK Mobile or the NewsOK app for your iPhone or Android device.
