Sewing group plans meeting
The next meeting of the American Sewing Guild, Oklahoma City chapter, is from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. Thursday at the Will Rogers Senior Activity Center, 3501 Pat Murphy Drive. Get advice on writing
NORMAN — Norman Public Library Central is giving local authors or would-be authors a chance to help each other on the writing journey with its monthly Writers' Critique Group and Write On! writing group. The Writers' Critique Group next meets at 2 p.m. Sunday in Rooms A and B of the library, 225 N Webster Ave. That meeting precedes the Write On! group which meets at 3 p.m. Participants for the critique group will need to submit up to five pages at a time of work which they would like to receive critique, review and accept group guidelines. UCO pom squad wins 2nd
EDMOND — University of Central Oklahoma's pom squad recently took second place at the Universal Dance Association's National Championship in Florida. The squad won second place by .6 points in the Open Pom division, with 15 teams total, and fifth place in the Open Jazz division, with 33 total teams. Head coach Lil Doescher, assistant coach Hailey Hyden, and team captains Alexis Newey and Jordan Staggs led the team in their nationals victory. For more information, go to www.uco.edu/spirit.
