A look back at President Trump's visits to Oklahoma
Donald Trump took the oath of office Friday, becoming the nation's 45th president. As he stepped into his new role, we took a look back at recent visits he made to the Sooner State during his campaign for the presidency.
In September 2015, Trump spoke to a crowd of more than 5,000 people at the Oklahoma State Fair.
Trump promised to deliver results by surrounding himself with top people and using his business expertise and said he was purposely being vague on many points so that competing countries wouldn't know his plans, The Oklahoman's Rick Green reported. Here's more about Trump's visit from Green's article:
Donald Trump fired up a crowd of more than 5,000 people Friday at the Oklahoma State Fair, criticizing the government as incompetent, fellow candidates as lightweights, U.S. policies as stupid and American negotiators as hacks, while issuing promises to “make the country great again.”
The Republican presidential front-runner brought roars from the crowd by lambasting others, including journalists covering his speech, and with signature lines like, “We're going to win so much, you're going to get tired of winning.”

In January 2016, Trump spoke to a crowd of about 9,000 people at the Oral Roberts University Mabee Center, where he embraced 'angry' voters, the Tulsa World reported.
In February 2016, four days before Super Tuesday, Trump returned to Oklahoma and rallied crowd of about 8,000 people inside the Cox Convention Center in downtown Oklahoma City.
New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie, who had recently dropped out of the race, introduced Trump.

The Oklahoman's Rick Green reported:
The crowd hooted and hollered throughout the 50 minute speech, in which Trump brought up his usual broad campaign pledges, saying he would:
•Repeal and replace Obamacare.
•Strike better trade, treaty and military deals with other countries, like China and Japan, which he said have taken advantage of this country. "We can't continue what we are doing and be the policeman for the world and not get reimbursed," he said.
•Do a better job of taking care of veterans.
•Build a wall on the southern border and have Mexico pay for it.
•Defend constitutional rights to bear arms, which brought him his loudest applause of the night. "You like your guns," he commented.
He said he would be tough with terrorists, and wouldn't hesitate to use waterboarding when necessary.
"I think it's just fine," he said. "And frankly, if you want to go a step above or two or three steps above, that's OK with me too."
In September 2016, Trump made a brief stop in Norman to attend a private fundraiser at a home near the University of Oklahoma's campus.
At the time, Gov. Mary Fallin said she was pleased to serve as an honorary chair for the reception for Trump, according to The Oklahoman's archives.
“This is his fourth trip to Oklahoma within the past year, and it shows how much he cares about Oklahomans to visit our state, traditionally a non- battleground presidential election state, so close to this fall's election," Fallin said.
