Oklahoma running back Joe Mixon declares for NFL
Star running back Joe Mixon announced that he wouldn’t be sticking around as a Sooner for much longer, The Oklahoman's Brooke Pryor reported.
He's heading to the 2017 NFL Draft.
"This morning I flew to Norman to let my coaches know that I am declaring for the 2017 NFL draft," he wrote. "More than anything, I wanted to let them know, in person, how grateful I am for the time they invested in my growth as a player and a person, for their mentorship on and off the field and for their faith in my capacity to grow into a young man who is worthy of the second chance that they gave me."
The polarizing player amassed 2,027 rushing yards on 300 carries and 894 receiving yards on 65 receptions in his two years with the Sooners.
