OafCon roundup: Show starts Saturday!

The Comic Book & Nostalgia Convention "Oafcon" returns for its 2016 edition this week in Norman. The convention welcomes a wide variety of guests, and features comic books, fantasy art, toys, movie posters, old time radio memorabilia and much more.

The following is information provided by some of the show's guests about their plans:

SCOTT COSBY, writer/artist

"I'm planning on being at OAFCON possibly sharing a table with Mike (Kennedy)," Cosby said. Cosby is representing Celtic Knights as a Cover Artist; PR for Cremona Publishing; and as a writer for The OKC Edge. "Lots of goodies, including cover art, space art, special model sketch I did for the Rubenette cover, etc."

ELLIS GOODSON, artist, "Scary Tales."

"I will have 18 of my Sticky Doodle sketchbooks to sell. Maybe have a packet prepared on my own version of Scary Tales. Prelims, story samples. AND, I will have all the original art from my 1995 comic book- The Bounty of Zone Z. I'd like to meet a collector that found that valuable enough to have me part with all of it at once," Goodson said.

Goodson also provided the following tongue-in-cheek bio:

Ellis Goodson came to Earth in 1953, the peak year of 3D science fiction and horror. Goodson acquired the ability to speak a human language and was sent to regular public schools in Oklahoma City- US Grant and Central State University (UCO.) Ties to a female human for a failed experiment in mating led Goodson to San Diego California. It was there he used his unearthly ability at drawing and sketching to barter for money from video game companies and film making studios. One of the largest branches of the Government now underwrites Goodson’s remaining sojourn on the planet. Where he still makes a sort of quirky art that pleases the human eye. Goodson will be selling printed collections of his art and on site created originals and commissions.
