Cafe 501 to stay at Classen Curve
Cafe 501 has reached a deal with its landlord and is staying put at the Classen Curve shopping center.
Pete Holloway, co-owner of Cafe 501, said Wednesday that the restaurant has reached a deal with shopping center management and will remain at the Classen Curve.
"We are not going anywhere," Holloway said. "It's unfortunate that things got to this point."
Classen Curve filed a forcible entry and detainer lawsuit against Cafe 501 on Oct. 7, seeking to evict the restaurant, as well as payment of rent the shopping center claimed was past due.
The shopping center has agreed to drop its lawsuit against Cafe 501, Holloway said.
In court documents, Classen Curve owner Washington Prime Group claimed Cafe 501 defaulted on its lease in September.
Washington Prime Group declined to comment on its deal with Cafe 501.
Several tenants at the Classen Curve have been in a dispute with Washington Prime Group over fees for things like maintenance, landscaping and property taxes.
