Work resumes after fatal fall at downtown Oklahoma City construction site
Work resumes at BOK site
Work resumed Wednesday at a downtown Oklahoma City construction site where a worker fell to his death last week.
Alex Mauricio Baiza, 33, died Friday after falling from the 14th floor of the BOK Park Plaza Tower, a 27-story building under construction at 499 W Sheridan Ave. Witnesses said Baiza, a concrete worker, drove a scissor lift off an open edge.
Emily Fors, a spokeswoman for general contractor JE Dunn Construction, said officials from the company and its concrete subcontractor, Baker Concrete Construction, are cooperating with an Occupational Safety and Health Administration investigation.
"The root cause and factors that contributed to the accident have not been finally determined nor has OSHA shared with us any findings from its investigation," Fors said. "We are working closely with Baker and with OSHA to complete this investigation."
