Norman stormwater fee trails, Deer Creek bond issue leads early Tuesday

A proposed stormwater runoff fee was trailing early Tuesday evening, carrying just 26 percent of the vote with four precincts reporting.

The proposal would assess a utility fee of $1 per utility customer plus $1.25 per 1,000 feet of hard surface that contributes to stormwater runoff.

In the Deer Creek school district, a pair of bond issues were leading at 7:40 p.m. Tuesday with 69 percent of the vote. Both bond issues require 60 percent of the vote to pass.

The district, which is located in northeastern Oklahoma County, would use bond money to build two new elementary schools and an addition at Deer Creek Middle School, among other projects.
