Fallin: Rossi was 'a strong and capable leader' at Fort Sill
Maj. Gen. John Rossi was "a strong and capable leader" during his time as commanding general at Fort Sill, Gov. Mary Fallin said in a statement Tuesday.
Rossi, 55, was found dead Sunday at Redstone Arsenal in Alabama, where he was set to take command of the U.S. Army Space and Missile Defense Command. In a statement issued Tuesday, Fallin praised Rossi's leadership at the post:
“Maj. Gen. John Rossi was a dedicated public servant, as well as a strong and capable leader for Fort Sill during his time as commanding general. We worked together for many years while he was stationed in Oklahoma. Maj. Gen. Rossi’s devotion to the men and women under his command were apparent to all who knew him. My thoughts and prayers are with his family during this difficult time.”
Rossi served as commanding general at Fort Sill from 2014 until he relinquished command at a ceremony last month. His death is under investigation.
