Diners, Drive-ins and Dives at sea?
Well sort, of. Guy Fieri is another in a long-line of celebrity chefs. His show highlighting America's best (and maybe a little unhealthy) eateries has been on the air for a decade. And he owns a few restaurants of his own, too. Fieri and Carnival partnered several years ago to put his branded restaurants onboard serving hamburgers. A new concept has also been added as Carnival puts "Guy's Pig & Anchor Bar-B-Que Smokehouse" on its ships.
Carnival Cruise Line might need to add more napkins to its cruise ships, because things are about to get messy. Guy's Pig & Anchor Bar-B-Que Smokehouse, a joint venture with celebrity chef Guy Fieri, will be onboard four of the line's ships by the end of 2017, the line revealed Wednesday night at a media event featuring the Food Network Star.
The restaurant serves meats and sides slow-cooked -- in a real smoker -- over hickory and cherry wood. It's already onboard Carnival Magic, and it will be added to Carnival Vista by the time the ship debuts in New York in November. Carnival Dream and Carnival Breeze will get their own barbecue restaurants in 2017.
As for Oklahoma based cruisers, the Carnival Liberty out of Galveston has Guy's Burger Joint on-board. Carnival Freedom also has the burger restaurant.
