Kd's Bricktown restaurant 'going through transition'

Management for Kevin Durant's Bricktown restaurant Kd's said the eatery is "going through a transition."

Durant partnered with Norman-based Hal Smith Restaurant Group to open the Kd's restaurant in 2013.

The restaurant offers a "Baller Menu" featuring bluepoint oysters and rib-eye steak. It also includes a wall of Durant memorabilia.

Hal Smith Restaurant Group said it would issue a statement on the future of Kd's shortly.

The Bricktown Kd's location, at 224 Johnny Bench, cost $5 million to build.

Durant owns a 25 percent stake in the restaurant.

The restaurant deleted its Twitter account on July 4, the same day Durant announced he was leaving the Oklahoma City Thunder to play with the Golden State Warriors.

An ill-timed tweet promoting Kd's special on barbecue chicken that day provoked an angry response from fans.
