Report on OKC home explosion could be released this week

The Oklahoma Corporation Commission is set to release its report on the Jan. 2 gas explosion at 12505 Whispering Hollow Drive that completely destroyed one home and led to the demolition of several more.

Corporation Commission spokesman Matt Skinner said the report could be released sometime this week.

Oklahoma Natural Gas blamed the explosion on poor workmanship on a weld seam during its own investigation.

Jonathan Duggan, 29, was inside the home sleeping when it exploded and suffered burns from the blast. He filed suit against ONG in April.

Duggan is seeking in excess of $225,000 for actual and punitive damages.

Wayne and Darwenia Boyd lived next door to Duggan and have also sued the utility. The couple's home was so heavily damaged in the blast that it had to be demolished.
