How Mustang wins the Fourth Of July
Then, the week of the Fourth Of July, they set it off. In the streets, in business parking lots, in the main park, people come with their blackcats and artillery shells to literally "Blow up Mustang" as one resident put it. There is little organization to the whole thing, and you must keep your head on a swivel at all times to avoid having a Roman Candle go off in your ear, but it's a heart pumping event unlike any I've ever experienced in Oklahoma.
This year myself and our intrepid intern Luke Spencer, decided we would try and document the craziness.
