Exchange on Film Row returns Friday
Some days you spend a lunchtime interview listening to a talented musician strum her guitar on set. Happened today. Katie Williams performed a song from her 2015 album “Force of Nature” during an interview in The Oklahoman’s video studio today.
You can catch Williams at the Exchange on Film Row street festival this Friday, June 17, in Oklahoma City’s historic Film Row District at the corner of Sheridan and Lee Avenues. The event is scheduled for 6 to 10 pm on the third Friday of each month through September.

Williams and fellow singer-songwriter Jose Hernandez will be performing at Dunlap Codding, 609 W Sheridan. Doug Sorocco of Dunlap Codding Intellectual Property Law joined Wililams for today’s interview. He explained the event harkens back to the old days of Film Row where people picked up their movie items and went on their way. Sorocco said the event allows people to see what Film Row has to offer and to meet some of the makers and creators from around Oklahoma City.
You can watch the full conversation, including Williams’ performance of “Careful What You Wish For,” in the video above.
About 3,000 people attended Exchange last month. The street festival features music, pop-up shops, food trucks, a children’s activity area and opportunities to enjoy the art spaces, restaurants and businesses that populate the historic district.
