Ryan Seacrest and Macy’s team up for Rio de Janeiro collection
Fashion designers are inspired by exotic locales all the time.
It’s no surprise Ryan Seacrest found inspiration in Rio de Janeiro and the upcoming Summer Olympics.
A 13-piece Ryan Seacrest Distinction Rio limited-edition collection of casual yet classy pieces will be available June 15 at 150 Macy’s stores and online at macys.com.
The idea for the collection came about when it was learned that Seacrest, a TV/radio host and producer, would be hosting NBC’s late-night coverage of the games. A capsule of effortless clothes needed for a walk on the beach or a night on the town seemed a perfect fit.
The color palette reflects the hues seen at the beach, on the water and as the sun sets. It’s an easy, casual feel with lifestyle pieces that include a color-blocked baseball windbreaker, linen and poplin shirts, polos, chambray shorts, knitted blazer, crushable fedora, espadrille and duffle bag.
Macy’s exclusively launched Seacrest’s line of tailored clothing in 2014 followed by outerwear, sweaters, scarves and travel bags last year.
Though inspired by the games’ location, the Rio collection launch is timed for Father’s Day and summer buying.
Since it’s a limited collection, when it sells out, it’s gone for good. Expectations are that it will be sold out before the start of the games.
