Delta: Free entertainment for all

The 21st century travel experience has been marked by airlines cutting amenities to passengers, not adding them. From snacks to movies, just about everything costs money in the air.

But Delta is bucking that trend by making its IFE experience free for everyone on board. Now passengers can screen movies on seat-back monitors, or stream to their own device depending on what their plane is equipped with.

Delta Studio currently offers about 300 movies and more than 700 TV shows on most planes. Some have live satellite TV channels and some video games. The new free stuff begins July 1 and is expected to be available on about 90 percent of Delta's planes.
