EDMOND — The University of Central Oklahoma is offering youth summer camps at its Outdoor Adventure Recreation Center on Arcadia Lake. Registration is underway for OAR Summer Adventure Camps in June and July. The camps are open to children in fourth through eighth grades.

Camp sessions are June 21-23, July 19-21 and 26-28. All camps run from 9 a.m. to noon with drop off beginning at 8:30 a.m. The registration fee is $125 per camper if registered before June 1 for the first session and July 1 for the second and third sessions. The cost goes up after those deadlines.

Trained UCO facilitators will lead campers in land games and water sports like kayaking, canoeing and paddle boarding. Campers also will be able to navigate the UCO Adventure Challenge Course and zip line, and participate in team building and leadership activities.

Activities will encourage a healthy and active lifestyle, and will teach camping skills and lessons about native wildlife and conservation.

To register a camper, go to and select “Store” in the left-hand navigation. Registration closes June 17 for session one and July 15 for sessions two and three.
