OKC Dodgers game delayed by bees

The Oklahoma City Dodgers picked up their second win in a four-game set against the Round Rock Express on Wednesday afternoon, but not before the game was delayed twice by a swarm of bees.

The bees took up residence on a radar gun just behind home plate at Dell Diamond in Round Rock, forcing a 25-minute delay in the bottom of the first inning. During the delay, umpires and stadium officials gathered a safe distance away to figure out what to do.

The situation was handled by a fan in a Buster Posey jersey and another whom announcers described as "someone who may be a bee expert." The two men used a broom handle to drape a plastic garbage bag over the radar gun and tied it off with gaffer's tape.

But the bag was only a temporary solution. Just before the start of the 3rd inning, the bees returned, and officials called in a professional bee handler to remove the swarm.
