Thousands remain without power Wednesday in Oklahoma

More than 7,000 homes and businesses across Oklahoma remained without power Wednesday morning, Oklahoma Gas and Electric Co. reported.

A round of severe thunderstorms passed through Oklahoma on Tuesday night, dropping large hail on some areas and sparking suspected tornadoes in others. The storms knocked out power to more than 20,000 homes and businesses Tuesday night, the utility reported.

By noon Wednesday, 7,369 customers remained without power. OG&E officials are encouraging residents to report outages.
