Thousands without power Tuesday night in Oklahoma

More than 22,000 homes and businesses were without power Tuesday night after a series of powerful storms passed through the state, Oklahoma Gas and Electric Co. reported.

The utility reported 16,030 outages in Oklahoma City shortly after 9:30 p.m. Tuesday. Statewide, 22,477 homes and businesses were without power, the utility reported.

OG&E officials are encouraging residents to report outages.
