State parks spring into activities
Springtime in Oklahoma has arrived. That means the ever-annoying Bradford Pears are in bloom, tornadoes are coming and the weather is warming up.
It also means events at Oklahoma's state parks. TravelOK.com has a list of upcoming events at state parks across Oklahoma. Here's a rundown:
Stargazing at Lake Tenkiller: Learn about astronomy and glimpse through telescopic views of nature’s nighttime glory.
Spring cleaning at Greenleaf State Park: Join Greenleaf State Park staff and other volunteers to help clean up the park. This event is held once a year in preparation for the busy summer season. Grab some gloves and lend a helping hand, making the park a more beautiful place to visit.
Bat Wing Ding at Alabaster Caverns: This two-day event offers hands-on activities, games, exhibits and educational discussions about bats. Classes are taught by wildlife experts from around the state.
Spring cleaning at Lake Tenkiller: A free hot dog lunch will be provided by Tenkiller Park Partners for all of the participants, and there will be drawings for prizes at lunch. Aluminum cans will be collected and saved to help fund the Greater Tenkiller Area Association's fireworks display.
