Police arrested Paul Bianchi, 52, of Edmond, at the school, 12201 N. Portland Ave. Bianchi, who has been employed by Oklahoma City Public Schools since 2008, was released from jail Saturday after posting a $5,000 bail.
He is on paid administrative leave pending the investigation.
A teacher at a Tishomingo alternative school has been accused of inappropriate contact with a student.
Oklahoma State Bureau of Investigation agents arrested Shelly Jo Duncan, 48, on Sept. 16 in the school parking lot.
The Tishomingo Police Department asked the OSBI to investigate allegations that Duncan was having inappropriate contact with a male student, according to a news release.
A former band instructor at Union Public Schools in Tulsa has been sentenced to 13 years in federal prison after he admitted exchanging sexually explicit photos with a 12-year-old girl in Canada.
James Russell Wilson, 32, of Tulsa, was sentenced after pleading guilty in June to one count of receiving child pornography. As part of the plea agreement, prosecutors dropped charges of sexual exploitation of a child, possession of child pornography and transfer of obscene materials to a minor, the Associated Press reports.
A fired Oklahoma City teacher has been charged in Oklahoma County District Court with three felony counts of sexual battery. Curtis Lamont Lowe, 43, of Midwest City, is accused of inappropriately touching three female students at Southeast High School, 5401 S Shields Blvd., in 2015.
Lowe, who taught science and coached at the school, had worked for Oklahoma City Public Schools since 1999. He was arrested July 5 and released from jail that day on a $20,000 bond. He was terminated from his position with the school district on July 15.
A Moore High School teacher has been charged in Cleveland County District Court with one felony count of forcible sodomy. Sandra G. Mayfield, 51, is accused of sodomizing a 17-year-old boy Feb. 28 in the back seat of her vehicle while it was parked at Buck Thomas Park in Moore.
Moore police began investigating the incident on March 8 after a complaint was lodged with them.
Mayfield joins a long list of other Oklahoma educators accused of sex crimes against students in recent years, including a former band teacher, a former choir teacher, and former Spanish teachers, two former science teachers and a basketball coach, among several others.
The music director at Luther High School and Middle School had been under investigation since 2015, when a student told her mother about the relationship.
Kyle Whitmus, 33, was arrested at his Oklahoma City home in the 12000 block of SE 73, according to the Oklahoma State Bureau of Investigation.
Whitmus was booked into the Oklahoma County jail on complaints of rape and soliciting sex with a minor. He also faces three complaints of indecent or lewd acts with a minor.
The Department of Homeland Security seized cellphones that belonged to Whitmus and a preteen girl, and he resigned amid allegations of sexual misconduct in April 2015.
Yet another recent case also involved an Oklahoma band director accused of having sex with student.
Former Edmond Memorial High School band director Cameron Kyle Kedy was accused of soliciting sex from a student who was 17 at the time.
Prosecutors allege the solicitation occurred between Jan. 1 and May 18. Kedy resigned as band director May 26.
Kedy turned himself in in July. The case is pending.
Former Choctaw High School teacher Kristen Lynn Betz of Newalla faced charges in June of second degree rape involving a relationship she allegedly had with a 17-year-old student. She pleaded not guilty and prosecutors in November dismissed the case after the student denied having sex with her.
The Oklahoman reports:
The student "denied it happened even though he told police that it did," First Assistant District Attorney Scott Rowland said.
Rowland said it appears the relationship between the student, now 18, and Betz continued.
That might be why his account changed, he said, adding prosecutors are still weighing their options. The student either could be charged with making a false police report or committing perjury for being untruthful in court, Rowland said.
Police reported they were told the sex happened between February and April.
The acts occurred at various locations, including business parking lots and at Betz' residence, they said.
Betz, a science teacher, resigned after the charge was filed, said Jim McCharen, Choctaw-Nicoma Park's superintendent.
Former Hefner Middle School Spanish teacher Whitney Fetters was charged with soliciting sex from a former student who 14 at the time. The one-time Putnam City teacher pleaded not guilty to counts of soliciting sexual conduct with a minor and possession of marijuana. The case is pending.
According to The Oklahoman:
According to an arrest warrant, Fetters began texting with the student when he was 12 and continued the relationship until he began attending high school. When the student was 14, the messaging started to become sexual in nature.
“They have exchanged at least 20 still images that were mostly nude and some were partially nude,” the warrant states.
The student and Fetters also exchanged between six and eight videos that were sexual in nature, prosecutors said.
Fetters and the boy arranged to meet while she was supposed to be house-sitting so they could “get high and have sex,” the warrant states.
Other students told school authorities the boy had inappropriate photos of a woman. The boy deleted text messages, images and a phone application when two school principals approached him during a school sporting event, the arrest warrant states.
Former Edison High School choir teacher Bradley Hart Morris, of Tulsa, was convicted of sex crimes against two of his students who were ages 16 and 18 at the time.
The Tulsa World reported Morris pleaded guilty in February 2015 to six criminal charges and was sentenced to seven years in prison for the crimes followed by five years of probation.
Prosecutors had charged Bradley Hart Morris, 45, of Tulsa with four counts of sexual battery, three counts of forcible sodomy and a single count of contributing to the delinquency of a minor in October 2013 after allegations surfaced that he had groped two students, ages 16 and 18, between August 2010 and June 2011.
The charges also allege that he engaged in oral sex with one student in the parking lot of a church and gave the other vodka.
Two of the sodomy charges against him were previously dismissed.
Former Commerce High School science teacher Thomas Fenderson, of Miami, pleaded guilty to second-degree rape involving a 17-year-old student.
The Tulsa World reports that Fenderson pleaded guilty in May:
Thomas Alan Fenderson, 44, of Miami, entered the guilty plea Ottawa County District Court in Miami to three counts of second-degree rape.
Fenderson entered the plea without an agreement with the district attorney’s office. Rogers Hughes, assistant district attorney said after the hearing he is requesting Fenderson serve a 15-year-sentence.
Former Western Heights High School teacher and basketball coach Tyrone Nash was convicted of having sex with a 16-year-old student.
The Oklahoman reported Nash received two years in prison and eight years of probation for his crimes.
Nash was charged in September 2011 after a female student came forth with the allegations. He was a physical education teacher and basketball coach at the school.
Nash opted for a bench trial, or a trial with no jury where a judge hears evidence and makes a ruling.
Bass said he gave Nash two years in prison to represent the girl’s junior and senior years, in which the sexual encounters took place.
Former Kellyville teacher Kalyn Darby Thompson pleaded guilty to having sex with an 18-year-old student.
Thompson was sentenced in Creek County in January 2015 to a year of prison and five of probation.
In March, former Capitol Hill High School teacher Callie Elise Miller was convicted of sexual misconduct with students, court records show.
One of the students, who was 17 at the time, was reportedly contacted by Miller via Facebook. Later, the two exchanged phone numbers and then agreed to meet in a park, where they had sex, according to a probable cause affidavit filed in the case.
Another student, 18, began talking to Miller about mechanical work for her car and she gave him her phone number. A conversation via text message led eventually to the pair having sex, the affidavit states.
Miller, who was a first-year English teacher at Capitol Hill, was placed on administrative leave in December when the allegations arose.
She was not terminated, but was not asked to return to teach at the district when the school year ended, Oklahoma City Public Schools spokeswoman Tierney Tinnin said.
The school principal initially contacted police when indecent photos of Miller were being passed around school.
A Yukon High School science teacher was arrested on Nov. 15 on a number of complaints, including rape, after she admitted to authorities that she had sex with a student.
A 22-year-old first-year teacher at Yukon High School was arrested Wednesday after being accused of having a sexual relationship with a student.
Canadian County deputies arrested Hunter Day, a science teacher at the school, at her home about 5 p.m. after the student’s parents notified authorities that they found nude photographs on his phone and thought he might be having sex with his chemistry teacher.
Investigators were able to determine that Day and the student had already engaged in a sexual relationship and that they were planning to have sex at her home on Wednesday afternoon.
Investigators used the boy’s phone to contact Day, asking her if “the meeting was still on.” Day reportedly replied “yes” and said the boy should “hurry up” and get to her home before her husband came home from work.
Investigators, still posing as the student, texted Day again, saying they were at the home and she responded, “the doors unlocked as usual.” Inside the home, investigators found Day sitting on the living room floor with “the lights turned off, candles lit” and wearing a T-shirt and shorts.
Canadian County Sheriff Chris West said Day was arrested without incident. She admitted to investigators that she had sex with the boy and sent pictures of her bra and panties and had received nude photos from the student.
