Bigfoot is still fairly big business in Oklahoma

NPR's State Impact has a nice package on its website about the wonders of Bigfoot and how the furry one impacts travel to the southeastern portion of our state.

My memories of Bigfoot center around the horrifying late 1970's episode of The Six Million Dollar Man who battles Bigfoot, but later befriends him. But I digress. This furry humanoid has been an object of curiosity for eons. I'm not sure why Oklahoma has become the center of the Bigfoot universe, but it's working for folks in at least one part of our state.

If you're not into Big Foot, the Beavers Bend area in southeastern Oklahoma is worth a visit. Hochatown has a winery and the State Park has cabin rentals and plenty of trails for hiking.
