Help Support Foster Wishes - Concert Tonight at the Wormy Dog Saloon

I've written before about my passion for Foster Wishes, a non-profit that ensures Christmas wish lists by thousands of foster kids in this state do not go ignored. My heart goes out to these kids - they are really wonderful and it's tragic how they've been caught up in drama and chaos that is not of their doing. Making their Christmas special is the LEAST we can do to help them.

Foster Wishes has done a great job on what is essentially an all volunteer effort. But the workload has outgrown that volunteer structure and the group (I'm a volunteer board member) is raising money to hire a full-time director and ensure that the effort can continue for years to come.

Some very generous people have helped the cause - I'll write up a big thank you/love letter next week. For now, though, I want to thank Levelland Productions, which helped host the recent Snow Ball at the CHK/UCO Boathouse and is now hosting a concert with proceeds going to Foster Wishes. The Wormy Dog is a great country/western live music venue in Bricktown with an emphasis on Oklahoma's Red Dirt music scene.

Have fun downtown ice skating, riding canal boats, seeing the lights at the Myriad Gardens and along the Bricktown Canal. When you're through, please consider dropping by the Wormy Dog.

Doors open at 6 p.m. The first show features Brandon Clark, followed by Taddy Porter at 11 p.m. Bring a new, unwrapped toy for free entry or $5. All proceeds go to OK Foster Wishes, a 501 c3 non-profit.
