Women in public safety recruiting event to be held for OKC fire and police

Benny Fulkerson, District Chief - Public Information Officer with the Oklahoma City Fire Department, brought fellow District Chief Cathy Hayes and firefighter Tracy Alberty to The Oklahoman on Tuesday. They previewed the “Women In Public Safety Recruiting Event” to be held this Saturday, December 12, at Metro Tech Spring Lake.

Fulkerson says the event is a joint effort between the fire department and the police department "to encourage and empower women to apply for employment with our departments. It will be a great opportunity for any female who has considered a career in public safety to come and ask questions and hear from women already in the profession."

The Oklahoma City Fire Department serves a population of over a half-million people and an area of 621 square miles, according to their web site
