Oklahoman.com delivers stats and standings to its digital subscribers
I grew up reading the newspaper every day. Like many, my newspaper fascination started with the sports page.
That’s how I kept up with the world of sports in the Tulsa area. I looked forward to the newspaper every day. I thought that would be a pretty cool thing to do for a living.
I was like most sports fans. The columns and game stories were good, but I really spent the most time on the pages full of stats – what we call the agate page.
The pages look something like this.
Sports fans like statistics. They like to look through boxscores after an important game. They like to study the averages and rankings. And they’ll always stare at the standings.
The Oklahoman’s subscribers are no different. That’s why we’ve completed and rolled out the Scoreboard pages on Oklahoman.com and on The Oklahoman’s apps.
The same experience that our print newspaper readers have enjoyed over the years is now available on the digital platforms. There’s more, really. We don’t have room to print every NBA team’s full team statistics every day, but we have them on The Oklahoman’s digital scoreboard pages.
The dropdowns are easy to navigate. Find the sport you are looking for. Then, find the boxscore or leaderboard or stat compilation from another dropdown selection. You can even go back to previous days to see the way the stats looked earlier in the week.
It’s a sports fans dream. And you never have to leave Oklahoman.com to get the stats fix every sports fan needs.
Try it. It's something every subscriber should have on their phone or computer. Why not? There's no extra cost.
