Life.Church releases new storybook Bible based on popular app
A print component of the the YouVersion Bible App for Kids was released today, Oct. 13, on Amazon.com and BibleAppForKids.com.
"The Bible App for Kids Storybook Bible" came about through a partnership between YouVersion and OneHope.
The free YouVersion Bible App and YouVersion Bible App for Kids were created by Edmond-based Life.Church.
Extending the successful Bible App for Kids app experience, the illustrated storybook Bible transfers stories from the app into an engaging book format that will help bring the Bible to life for children of all ages, stated a news release about the new storybook.
"The Bible App for Kids Storybook Bible" includes 28 narratives from the Bible along with illustrations and questions designed to make the Bile easy for children to understand and for families to read and discuss together, the church's new release said.
Bobby Gruenewald, creator of YouVersion andLife.Church's innovation pastor, said parents and children love the way the stories and characters are depicted in the app and asked for a way to enjoy them in book format.
"We believe this generation has the potential to be the most biblically engaged group of all time, and we want to create exciting and engaging resources to help children learn about and understand the stories in the Bible."
The Bible App for Kids launched Thanksgiving Day 2013 and since that time has been downloaded more than 8.5 million times and in nearly every country of the world, according to Life.Church's news release. Currently, the app is available in nine languages -- English, Spanish, Brazilian Portuguese, Mandarin, Korean, Russian, German, Dutch and French -- and several other languages are in in development.
Meanwhile, in conjunction with the new bible storybook, YouVersion and OneHope are offering free accompanying materials like coloring sheets, curriculum and parent resources for churches and parents. These can be downloaded at bibleappforkids.com.
